Hello i am new to this site, and in search of help. I have a Eclipse 34230 amp.(4-8ohm stable, 2channel) and its running two DVC 4ohm eclipse 10" subs. Seems like if you hit the amp, it cuts our for like 7 seconds or so. I noticed it when i hit bumps on the road, and i dont mean large bumps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Do you have good power and ground connections to the amp. There could be a loose wire or maybe by the fuse it could be loose.

does it copletely lose power or go into protection?

Where is your turn on lead connected to?

-----could be shorted rca connection?

How do you have these subs wired to the amp now? There are 2 ways you can go if DVC subs... (2/4/8 type)

1. Wire each subs for 2 ohms and 1 sub per channel
2. Wire each sub for 8 ohms, then both subs in parallel to the amp in bridged MONO mode

As noted earlier, power wires may not be doing the job well. Hit a bump... the amp loses power and shuts off... then powers back up in a few seconds...

1. poor ground (bare metal connection to car body!)
2. loose power feed connection
3. loose REM turn on feed

Also, check your RCA signal connections to that sub amp. They may be loose and have to be resoldered to the PC Board. This is not uncommon in older amps or amps that are not securely mounted. But usually, when this is the problem, the subs drop out and come back at random with little or no lag time.

Any of these will cause what you have mentioned.
