I AM 17 AND I HAVE A ( 2000 DODGE RAM 1500 - SINGLE CAB ) I DONT HAVE THE FACTORY DIAGRAM, AND AM TRYING TO HOOK UP MY BRAND NEW SONY XPLOD AMP AND 12" SONY XPLOD SUBWOOFER TO MY STOCK HEAD UNIT. I HAVE ALREADY WIRED MY FRONT SPEAKERS THROUGH THE ( LOC ) AND WEN I PLUGGED IN THE RCA's NO SOUND CAME THROUGH THE SUB. I THEN GOT CURIOUS AND TOUCHED THE RCA's TO ONE OF THE SPEAKER WIRES THAT I HAD SPLICED AND MY SUB WORKED AND SOUNDED GREAT! BUT I KNOW THAT IS NOT PROPER AND WOULD LIKE IT TO BE DONE AS RIGHT AS POSSIBLE. STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS WOULD BE NICE. PLEASE HELP ! ! !

step 1: please turn the caps lock off, CAPITOL LETTERS SHOW THAT YOU ARE SHOUTING ON FORUMS and nobody likes to be yelled at.
You have something wrong there or the sub would play from the loc. Touching your rca's to the speaker wires can make the speakers play but you are feeding a signal that is too high into the amplifiers pre-outs and you run the risk of blowing them. Unfortunatly I do not think my manuals go to 2000 to get the wire colors but I will check. What do you have hooked up to what at the moment?
