Hi..... This is my system: 1. Head Unit : Kenwood DDX8032BT (I had JVC AVX-900 previously) 2. Subwoofer : 12" JVC Arsenal Subwoofer (CS-AW8240) 3. Subwoofer Amp : Kenwood Monoblock Class D Amp ( KAC - 9152 D) 4. Speakers : Alpine R Type Component (SPR-17S) x 2 front & Alpine R Type (SPR-17S) x 2 rear 5. Amp : JBL 4 Channel Amp Recently I upgraded my head unit from JVC AVX 900 to Kenwood DDX 8032 BT. This one is the latest from Kenwood with a built in bluetooth adapter and with wide options to change the audio settings for fine tuning. But alas I found out that what I did was not an upgrade but a downgrade w.r.t. a particular issue. This unit doesnt play Video from the USB / External hard drive. Previously when I had the JVC AVX-900, I used to play many movies and music videos from the Hard Drive I connected to the system USB. Now this head unit (Kenwood DDX8032BT) doesnt play Images and Videos from the USB. It plays only the Audio (and that too no option for wav files. only MP3 and WMA) I have visited a number of Kenwood websites for any firmware upgrades. I came across an update for the older models of head units like DDX 5032 etc which will upgrade the firmware to enable the head unit to play MPEG1 / MPEG2 files from the USB but didnt find any for this latest model DDX8032BT. http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/ http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/mm/firmware/2008/eng.html Now I wanted to know if there is any firmware upgrade for my model or whether there will be any in the near future. Also is there a workaround for my problem I know that it is out of place to ask about my problem, but I am desperate. Please help me. Thank you. Replies (1) admin on 10/27/2008 03:38:01 This page: http://au.kenwood.com/Car_Entertainment/Visual_n_Navigation_Systems/DDX8032BT Shows it only supports these on USB: MP3/WMA/AAC Playback So I would think they didn't add support to this model on purpose. Maybe they will let you trade it in?? Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
