Well i have tested it out, just for grins, and i gotta say i am pretty impressed with kickers 8" sub cvr8 w/ dual 4ohm VC. am totally impressed with the concrete form used to make the enclosure, sure i cant say how long it will last but at $5 for a 4' length , which means two subs worth, and scrap mdf and a little gorrilla glue,it makes quite the cheap project if not just for a test enclosure. next up 10" and 12" , am finding more time on my hands and what the heck got some subs layin arround. well hope everyone is hangin in there...i know its tough...as we say at work either it will get better or we become cannibals...lol...GRIN LFV Replies (2) ttocs on 10/16/2008 03:15:23 if you put a layer of fiberglass resin on it, that thing would probably last longer then you and the speakers. Depending on what type of cardboard you use you may not even need to put any matt materail on it. As long as it can soak in a little while not saturating it and distorting the shape. I would do one light layer inside and out and that tube would be really strong swez on 10/18/2008 07:52:34 Agreed! A good coating of 2-part epoxy, (Resin/hardener) should do the trick here. No need to "glass" the tube until you have established a great sounding Bass-Tube. Coat the inner and outer parts of the Crete-tube with resin/hardner and if you like the results, just carpet over the exterior parts that show or paint as desired.
