Alright So i got a deck and speakers already, i'm looking to get an amp and two subs. I have two pairs of Infinity 6x8 2 way speakers (180w peak power, 60 rms power range, built in crossover) and my deck is an alpine. i'd like to know if i should get infinity subs and an amp also or is it ok to mix it up a little bit and get maybe kenwood subs and an amp.

Many do mix and match for various reasons. Alpine is one of the few top tier Mfg's that make complete systems. Kenwood does too, but they tend to be a bit more budget friendly until you climb up to the eXcelon series.

In short, why not? Just make sure the amp and sub combo is well matched to each other. We can help if requested.

Oh yea help would be great, i just need some suggestions, i'm buying from bestbuy, i was thinking of looking at sound of tri state. But what would you recommend for a descent amp and subs for an 02 escape? not looking to spend a whole lot maybe like $400 if that..or is that a little too cheap? not looking to blow the windows outta the thing right yet..just looking for a little bump in the ride ya know

if your looking for a cheap but good setup it would probably be better to go with a single sub setup

Keep in mind that larger amps pull more current and it would be good to know the charging systems Ampere rating before going to an amp that will pull 50A's or more at full power. (Depends on how hard the system is used on a daily basis)

If you want to stay on the Alpine theme, consider this combo:

Model: MRP-M500 (Class D Sub amp)

A single Alpine SWR series sub will match up well with this amp. Here, you can use the 4+4 DVC models, (12" or 10") for this amp. If you want a few extra dB of bass, go ported. If +3dB is not that important, go sealed.

Finally, the price for the amp are fair at BB, but the sub price is about $100.00 higher than can be found off other sites on the Internet. Have seen the SWR-1242D for just over $120.00 + S/H.

What say you?

Yes tried and tested sub-amp combo, stands up to a good amount of beating and never fails to deliver with the right kind of enclosure...

you'll be happy with this combo....
