Bypass factory amp?

Hey everybody, I was wondering if anyone has any experience bypassing the factory amp on a 2000 Lincoln LS. I have a buddy who wants my help installing a stereo in his Lincoln, but I don't know much about his car except that it has a factory amp. Any advice would be appreciated even if you know how the stereo comes out or anything like that would be helpful also. THINK

i had a fac amp on my old cougar. they are bolth ford products. i got this wire harness, it has 2 male ends and some wires inbetween. all i had to do is un plug the wires to the amp and plug in the "jumper" wire. i went to my local audio shop and ordered a fac amp bypass.

I have bypassed many amps in the mach systems in the mustangs, but not in the LS. The mustangs are easy because if you have the mach system all the basic wiring is there as well. All you need to do on it is disconnect a hrns behind the radio that is the factory amp output, and use that as your speaker wires.
