Whats up guys. I hafve been without internet for a minuteand will be without for a while longer. Figured I would drop in, say hi and give some updates.

The Bucket is doing great, and in the name of expeirmentation blew one of mt GT-5 so I could bust out the new GTO series. Rolling with the GTO1214 is pretty sweet, they pair up better with my enclosure, but are some power hungry beasts, so a new JBL GTO700.1 will be had soon to really push these monsters. nd thy have the ugliest, cheapest looking cones I have ever seen on a decent pair of subs. Will be reverse mounting them soon due to said massive fail at aestetics on the cone. The magnet and motor structures are sexy as hell, so at least they didn't totally blow it.

Also the new trend I have been starting......Beats over seats and boom over room. Had to yank out the verticle part of the rear seats for even more vent area......ACT AFOOL

Well, I talked about it and did it........

GTO1214 subs

GTO1214 subs

GTO1214 subs

Yeeeeeeaaaaaahhh!!!!

Loved the way they looked firing foward, but unfortunately, It sounded like a hammered doo, so i turned them back firing towards the rear, still reverse mounted, as well as confirmed that both sets of sub cable were the same length, then tightened the hell out of my trunklid And It really made a huge difference in many ways.

the lack of sub displacement in my enclosure made the subs perform better And tightening the trunklid eliminated much of the rattle. fortunatly my home was smarter than me And figured out how to adjust It when i was stumped. i was hardly turing the subs up because of the obnoxious rattles of doom. he also hooked me up with more dynamat which i will apply soon.

funny thing on the braces And the magnets....i was wondering the same thing.......

Hey SQL... it's Swez, (Good to see ya back at CK)

You do know that inverting the subs like this, changes the internal air space of the box used by about + 0.1 cf per sub right? (Larger box?)

This may provide better low end response from this application, but primarily if the box is a tad on the small side.

Comments?

The box is a touch on the underside, so the lack of sub displacement works beautifuly.

Still no web at the crib, you should shoot me a phone number so we can keep in touch. Wether I am around or not, I always need some advise from the Old Man Audio status.........

You know my e-mail addy right? If you want to chat, just ask for a phone number and or I can call you on my dime. The trick is timing the chats. I get up very early, work a long day and get to bed early too.
(M-F) On the weekends, things are less hectic.

Shoot me your phone # vial private e-mail and a schedule to call OK?
