Well, it's been a minute since i've posted here but I've been steady @ work and home and had little time for me! My last post was about my PDX-1.1000 blowing fuses for some apparent reason that was never figured out. THINK

Since I bought my amp from crutchfield they were happy to do a repair on it! But two weeks later i got bad news from my folks @ home! My shipment came back... the same box I had shipped it in... but NO AMP!MAD Turns out someone from UPS noticed the crutch label and decided to help themselves to it! But dealing with a top notch retailer such as crutchfield, they handled the ordeal with UPS and UPS had to buy me a new one! GRIN

I'm happy to say that over a month has gone by and I'e had absolutely no trouble with the 08 model! I guess word finally got back to Alpine about the troubles with their PDX line and the did an overhaul and found a solution to whatever it may have been!CLAP But kudos to crutch for big boying UPS to get me a brand spankin new amp and not a refurb!!!

Sounds like Crutch is getting too well know and needs to ship expensive gear in plain cardboard boxes w/o much detail on the goods inside?

Yes, we have heard other reports that the PDX series amps have been having trouble in the field. (This amp specifically) Hopefully they have corrected the issues and all is well in the Land of Odds.

Indeed, kudos to Crutch for stepping up to the plate with UPS. Dang, I hate liars and thieves. MAD But in this case, it worked in your favor.

Sure did! But I was hella mad when I found out!MAD Seems like some people just dont care what they take and how hard that person worked to obtain the things they have!

You know what they say though "What goes around comes around!" But I guess it did work in my favor pretty much. Even still it burns me up that people will do that! That amp was 900 bucks!

How helpful were the installation guides Crutch gave you with each item?

$900.00? Crutch lists the price at $799.00 and free shipping.

I bought the amp when it was first released. The price has come down since I purchased it but I did pay 9 for it and thats the main thing I love about crutch is the free and fast shipping! Not to mention the outstanding customer support!

As far as the installation guide it walks you through every step from power to remote and sub wiring diagram! If you never installed a system before the guide crutch sends you maes ya feel like someone is there walking you through it!

Good!

Have ordered a few items from Crutch for my Step-dad's needs and found all info to be helpful, easy to understand and at a level most newbies can grasp.

Yes, he paid a premium for the products and such, but it was worth the extra piece of mind if something did go south. (To date, every purchase met expectations 100%)

Glad to hear you had a very good outcome as well!
