Double Stacked Strontium Magnets Replies (6) swez on 08/5/2008 01:36:21 The easiest way to wire your subs to a 2 channel amp is as mentioned first in your post. Channel 1 +++++++++++ Sub A, both + lines Channel 1 ------------------ Sub A, both - lines Channel 2 +++++++++++ Sub B, both + lines Channel 2 ------------------ Sub B, both - lines Both channels will see a net 2 ohm load and safe for the amp. This is easier than bridging and same power to each sub. A 40 A fuse is OK as long as you use #8 gage wire or larger. That value fuse will allow ~ 600 watts power draw from your amplifier before it blows. I this case, the gain settings will be just below the 40 A fuse limits. If you exceed that current flow, that fuse will blow. Good idea to have a few spares on hand. What are the fuse values in this 2000 GRIN watt amp? Swez MrBrownstone on 08/5/2008 03:50:42 Depends upon if lightning strikes the chassis.....woops, forgot my dookie rayray_12000 on 08/13/2008 22:19:31 thanks 4 the diagram realy helped .so if i had a 80 amp fuse will i get more from the amp because it originaly came with a 80 amp fuse swez on 08/14/2008 02:59:06 Yes, ran a few quick calculations and with an 80A fuse, this amp will delivery about 700 watts RMS total. (350 RMS per sub @ 2 ohms per channel) 14.4 volts x 80A = 1152 watts consumed 1152 x 0.6 (eff. factor) = 691 watts RMS If using a 40A fuse, your power the amp can draw will be cut by 50%. The output is now just under 350 watts RMS. (175 RMS per sub) Swez rayray_12000 on 08/22/2008 19:30:29 i whant to say thanks for everyones help and patience .its realy appreciated im having problems with my 2000 watt ibmn-782 performance teknique amp it keeps on shutting down on me im running my adiobahns aw12000eu audiobahns the way ther connect is sub a positive to ngative then out to the amp to its match pos.and neg. same applys to sub bnow on the outer part of the box i have positves from sub a & b to the bridged pos. on the amp and the same for the neg.is this wrong please help swez on 08/23/2008 10:22:57 Am trying to make sense of your last thread and think you may have wired these subs improperly for Bridge Mode Mono on this amp. (Too low of a resistive load will shut the amp down) Below 4 ohms when Bridged. Here is the wiring plan you will use: (Series/Parallel =4 ohms) Diagram #2: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=4 Got all that?
