Hello i have had such good help from here im back for more.Got a cerwin vega v-max 124 in a 3.682 cubic ft box with a 6.5 inch 4 inch wide port according to my calculation its tuned to about 31hz im thinking this box is to big and i could probly get better sound and bass . Any ideas?

Think you are right if the bass sounds boomy and sloppy at 1/2 rated power or higher. Read this guys info. (pg 2 for box specs)

My personal experience with the CV vmax12,

have sold and installed around 50 of these subs... they play wonderfully well in a 1 cu.ft sealed enclosure when fed with 500wrms to 700wrms....

as for a ported enclosure... you got too big a box there... nothing bigger than 2 cu.ft for this sub... you can kill it....

i'd suggest a 1.5 cu.ft tuned to 35Hz for balanced transients and good SPL...
