Connectors

I am preparing to do the install on my system. (By the way I appreciate everyone's help on configuring my system and purchasing tips).

The question is, "How important are the connectors?" Is it worth it to buy the expensive platinum or gold plated crimp connectors? Or are the radio shack type generic connectors good enough?

In cases where the wire connects to the amp(speakers, pwr, remote), I do not like to use connectors at all. At that point they are purely for looks. Unless you solder them it is just another place that the connection could fail. Corrosion builds up after time, resistance, ect....

For battery conections I would definitly use something halfway descent. Under the hood cheap connectors will corrode quickly, again resistance will build, ect again...

Thanks ttocs. I bought good stuff to connect under the hood. Sorry for the noobie question, but we have to learn somehow.
