ah someone has to help me on this one! FROWN My cousin told me that the amp he was gonna give me was a 4 channel but I found it to be a 2 channel amp. Here's my problem. I wired all the speakers up, wired the head unit without a harness with no problem at all. When everything was wired up including the amp, speakers, and head unit, I started 'er up, and the head unit worked fine, the amp had power, but there was no sound from the speakers! agh! There are a few things I did that I'm not sure about. Do you need spade connectors to connect the speaker wires to the amp? Having none I just connected the wire to the clamp on the amp. I have one pair of rca wires connected to the front input on the back of my head unit, and the other end of that connected to the input on the amp. what could be wrong? help me before I pull my hair out

Wire to lugs on the speaker outs are fine. They don't need other hardware to work.

There are 2 things to look at here:

1. The amp is OK
2. The amp/speaker connects are correct and no internal factory amps are in the present audio chain

You may have to bench test the amp to insure it is working properly. What amp are you working with here? (Make & Model #)

Finally, it would be best to amp the front speakers only. Use the HU internal amps to power the 4x6"rear speakers. If the HU has a crossover network for F/R speakers, the rear speaker should be filtered above 300 Hz. (If not higher or forget them completely)
