Upgraded from a 2-chan 300w amp to a 4-chan 600w amp and I used RCA Y-Adapters so I wouldn't have to replace my patch cable. I matched my amplifier gain to my 2.2v HU but the subs can play much louder when I change the gain. Am I losing any power from the HU with the Y-Adapters? Now turn on your deck, zero out all bass and treble, bass boost ect, and put in a cd you are familiar with and turn the decks volume up to about 2/3 - 3/4 max volume so that what ever speakers are playing are just under the point that they start to distort. Now go to your amp and start to turn the gain up so that the speakers they play start to distort, and then go back a hair so they are still clean. Now fine tune any x-over stuff, check back on the gain to see if you can give it any more and if not you are done. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
