Why is it that there is a whistling sound comming out of my speakers, ever since I put in a new amp.

You say "whistling" sound after the new amps was installed. We need to define this a bit more. Does the pitch of this noise change with engine RPM?
Also, need details on the system you have now and the amp/Radio used in this install. It may be a simple fix like correct gain settings on the amp used. Then again, there may be other factors to consider.
Can you give detailed feedback on what gear you have now and how it was installed. Knowing these factors, we'll have a better sense of how to direct you later. (Radio used, amp used and how things were wired)

PS When amping any system, it is vital to keep the amp signal wires away from the power lines to the amp. (Power cable on one side and the signal cables on the other side of a vehicle)
