how do i stop or get rid of engine noise in my music

you need to tell us all the equipment in the car, as well as the color of the car. Red cars always have noise, ALWAYS so that is why I like green cars, they never have noise.

Gee ttocs, now that's some info there.... Guess that's why I prefer hoopties that don't run. That way the engine noise won't be a problem.

Have a white/grey ride and no noise there either. Think ttocs is on to something here. Did a major install on a Green Ford F-150 Super Crew and we had no noise issues either? Will avoid red cars though.

Also, reground the HU to bare metal in the dash, floor pan or fire wall. Most Aftermarket HU's need a dedicated ground to get the job done well.
As Drew mentioned, avoid running the main power lines on the same side rail as your RCA's. This can can be a problem in some vehicles, but not all. In the back where all wires are connected, the power and ground lines should cross over the RCA's at 90 degree angles. Do not bundle RCA's and power lines near the amps. This can create noise too.
The last thing to check are the gain settings on your amps. If they are set too high, we amplify audio signals and any noise in the audio chain too. Here, we limit the crossection area where RCA's and power lines converge. (Yes, it looks nice when all wires are bundled, but this can create nois problems too)

you guys have never heard of the car-color-code-to-noise-theory of mine? The comment of swez's green supercrew only proves it as they always had noise.... It is still in the theory phase and unproven but I am working on proving it as we speak.
You guys know the trueth about 911 right?

Funny, but this is the truth, the only car that I have installed in that gave me noise not caused by a faulty amp was my RED Nissan Sentra.
