i have 2 audiobann dvc 12" 4ohms & 2 fosgate svc 12" 8ohm running to a kenwood 2ch 600watt amp in stereo +++___+amp - - -___ -amp GRIN i know with just the 2 dvc subs i had them wired at 2ohms in stereo and if the 2 svc were 4ohm it would be wired so the amp ran at 0.33ohms but because the 2 svc are 8ohm dose that make the amp run above 2ohms ? i was thinking almost 4ohms am i right? if some one could help me out that would be great THINK i have another question ,ok i have a gmc safari with no back seats only 2 front seats and each set of woofers are in matching Qlogic dual 12" sealed boxes and i have tryed faceing them up and faceing them towards the back doors what is the best placement for four subs IDEA Replies (1) swez on 05/20/2008 17:20:18 Am reluctant to touch this one as there are too many variables in this mix. If it were a friend asking for suggestions, I would guide him to a "less is more" approach. (2 of the best subs that match the amp used and go from there. The Bahn's are more efficent, (Louder w/ less power) than the RF's and you have 2 main options: 1. Use a 1 ohm stable MONO amp that delivers adequate power to the Bahns 2. Consider a 2 channel amp that can be bridged to give enough power to them @ a 4 ohm net load A possible 3rd option is to wire all subs as 8 ohm units, (In parallel) to get a net 2 ohm load and use a Class D MONO amp that will deliver enough power to meet the RMS power limits of the RF subs mentioned. Here, the Bahns will be louder at the same wattage, but the RF subs won't be overly stressed either. As for placement, most large format SUV's sound best when the subs are placed behind the rear seats, (Or closer to the existing front seats as noted) and fire toward the rear bumper. Comments? Swez PS If you want a real street beater, use a ported box within the specs for the Bahn's and hold the RF subs as reserves or trading material for a stronger amp to feed the Bahn's to their full potential.
