Subwoofer stiff (cone won't push in)

Hey everyone,
This is my first post on this forum, I was hoping you guys could help me. I've got a pair of 12" MTX Roadthunders in a sealed box, I used them for about 3 days, then had a problem with one so I sent it off to get refurbished. Well this was about a year or 2 ago, and I just went to check the refurbished sub and the cone just doesn't push in, it's very stiff. Keeping in mind that I've never hooked this refurbished sub back up to an amp, is this normal at all? If not, how can I fix it? I'd really appreciate it.

The MTX RT's are the budget line of subs from MTX. If you have a new one or a refubished one here, it should move in and out with light finger pressure on the cone. If one does not, it may be seized in the gap and useless.

A new/refurb sub is very tight and takes a little "break-in time" to to get it moving to full potential. If it does not move to some degree, the refurb was not effective. Here, I would contact Mitek, explain the problem and see what they offer in response.

These are 4 ohm SVC subs yes? The power rating is about 250 Wrms per sub. What amp are you using now and how are the subs wired to this amp?
