my type x 12 is reading 4 ohm on one vc and 2 ohm on the other.
The 2 ohm vc blow fuse on 1 amp

they should measure the same, your speaker was probably a little over driven.

Hum, the 4 ohm DVC, (SWX-1243D) will read about 3.2 ohms per coil with a DVM. Since one is closer to 2 ohms and the other is close to 4 ohms, that indicates either a partially shorted coil on this sub or they used the wrong wire to wind one coil when it was made. (Not likely)
Do you have a warranty on this sub? If yes, use that option and replace the sub. If there is no warranty here, your only option is to count it a loser and either send it back for repair/refurbish or buy a new sub.
