I have a 2007 silverado classic with a am/fm only radio system.I want to put in a factory am/fm cd system, but I noticed when I took out my radio that the harness only had one plug in while the am/fm/cd syetem had two areas in the back for plug ins.Is their an adapter that will plug into my wiring harness to allow the hook up of the new factory radio.Info:My truck does not have onstar,it`s just the work truck series.Hope you can help.

Why not a minor investment in a aftermarket head unit? For the cost of one you cannot beat the capabilities nor the clarity. As far as wiring if you order one from crutchfield.com you will get all that you need including a instruction sheet. Doesn't get any simpler than that.

You can go to their website and access the link under car audio & video "outfit my car". Enter all the details and pick out the unit with the features you think you could use. Get a unit at least in $129 in cost and you will get everything to hook it up plus a install mastersheet for free. Best deal on the net actually.

The factory head units are often decent, but with the extra output of an aftermarket you will be able to gain a little bit more with better clarity not to mention being able to upgrade other components down the road like outboard amplification.

Not a major investment here, just a smarter one as eventually when the stock speakers fail you will be wanting to upgrade them as well. A aftermarket head unit will suit them better......

Other than that, don't know exactly what went wrong with the deal you got. Being a cd shouldn't have added an extra plug. Where did you get it from?

Oh so you haven't the stock gotten yet? Good deal. Stick with the upper brands which crutchfield offers like Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, or even Panasonic and all should be good.

If the factory harness will plug into the factory am/fm/cd player, that's all you'll need. the other plug is on all the radios, it has to do with steering controls / nav / onstar, the factory will work fine with the OEM harness by itself as long as it's only am/fm/cd without RDS.
