installing audio system

hi there
ive just bought a vt commodore and i want to gut the audio in it and start fresh with a good setup wif amp and subs

can sum1 give me a rundown on what i need?
im looking on installing it with a m8 but i havnt got the first clue
any websites that could help me or can 1 of u guys giv me a kickstart?
