One of my weekend rituals, (Down time for humor) like to listen to these whaco brothers named "Click & Clack".. The tappet brothers on NPR. The show is called "Car Talk" and they take calls from folks having trouble with this or that vehicle. (Car repair diagnostics and lots of cheesy jokes) http://www.cartalk.com/Radio/Show/online.html If you are bored like me and don't feel like mowing the lawn today, waste a perfectly good hour listening to them jabber and try to figure out the puzzler of the week. Who knows, they may address a problem in your own car and help ya figure out what to do next. Swez SMILE PS Don't forget to listen to the credits at the end of the show. My work name is mentioned too. "Peek-up & Dropuf", transportation services. Replies (2) curtis73 on 04/27/2008 16:42:41 Its a fun show, but rarely do they diagnose anything correctly :) Just a few weeks ago a lady was asking why her FWD car was making a clunking clicking noise when she went around turns and the Tappet brothers were convinced it was a broken motor mount. I always find myself wanting to call in and say "its the CV joints you morons." swez on 04/27/2008 17:14:12 Yeah, I think part of the problem is these guys are MIT grads and may have a hard time extracting good info out of some callers to get a better diagnosis. Some of the women that call in for assistance just ramble on and confuse the issues to the point where they are lost. A side note, I sure get lost when we get long, rambling posts here and have to step back, break things down into manageable bites and then answer them in a logical manner and reply. If I had only 3-5 minutes to come up with a solution over the phone, it might not be so accurate either. ;~) Swez COFFEE Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
