I am shopping for a sub amp to run a pair of 12" A/D/S/ subs. I was looking at class D mono amps but now I am looking at 2-channel class A-B b/c of the better SQ. I am only looking for sound quality, not for turning heads. Please let me know your suugestions. How about the Cadence amps---the Z9000???? Thanks in advance.

If I'm wrong on this than someone correct me, but the only time you will hear a difference in a Class-D and Class-A/B amp is if running it for highs. When running the two on low frequencies(i.e. subwoofers) You will hear very little difference if any at all. From my understanding the Class-D's have trouble with the higher frequencies do to the fact that they are switching amps.

Yes, that is my understanding as well. They are more efficient as they draw less current, can take low ohmic loads well and The THD% is low enough that you'll not detect it until clipping the sub amp.

Cadence makes a fine Class A/B amps as do Sound Stream, Diamond, Phoenix Gold, MA Audio and PPI.

Nice subs I'll bet... A/D/S makes some top knotch gear.

Happy hunting,

Swez
