A couple of pics of today's fun little lighting adventure From the back seat, close to what I see..... http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s191/GhettoHooptyBucket/?action=view¤t=lights2.jpg Side view, like when I'm getting in..... http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s191/GhettoHooptyBucket/?action=view¤t=lights1.jpg The drivers side floor light is a mere LED from the JBL GTO 75.4 II amp. The dash lights are these spiffy 3 spotlight led's that replaced the 9'' neon that was wedged in there that was kind of replacing the dash lights hen they went out. The 9" neon found it's way under the passenger seat. I love it! GRIN Replies (7) swez on 03/28/2008 05:02:51 Tried to copy/paste these links, but they did not translate. Try again? Swez cplkittle on 03/28/2008 11:42:28 Swez, if you have a problem with a link, try cutting the fat off of the end to the next "/" for example, try this link instead: http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s191/GhettoHooptyBucket/ That will take you to the album and not the particular picture, then you can click on the picture from there. in the links above, the little snowflake and 't' after the word "view" should be the & symbol. That looks pretty cool. I always liked the effect custom interior lighting. It gives the entire car a whole new feel. Quite a tragedy....... I am pretty stoked with the lights. As you say Kit, this definitely gives the Bucket a whole new feel. I do wish the JBL amp LED was as bright as the neon, it seemed fine before the neon...... As for the dash lights, these are great for both form and function. Them vs the neon, they are much more functional. and since I dont have to dim the hell out of them so I could drive with them, they give out that blue light much better. Both were great solutions over driving without insturments at night, but with the neon I could only really see the speedometer, gas and tempeture gauges weren't illumanated very well, and you had to count gears to tell if you were in park, reverse or drive. And I love the way the neon does a much better job of blingin' out the passenger side of the car, bathing all the way up the dashboard and doors with gentle blue light! SEXY! Too bad I can't add any lighting to the outside though, as blue lights are illegal on the outside of the care in CO, and I ain't about to go all uncoordinated now that everything matches, even my deck and foglight switch. newB on 03/29/2008 08:21:54 i feel ya on the lighting and it looks really good! how did you wire them?? through a switched line on the fuse block then toggle then light? or straight bat switch light?? just asking because i did similar amber leds under each footwell and ran switched to fuse block and it works great! on when the cars on off when the cars off no dead batteries!! -Drew SQLThump on 03/29/2008 17:44:04 The dash lights and the neon I dissasembled the cig lighter plug, and went power to the old stock radio fuse, which is bypassed because my H/U goes straight to the battery through 8 gauge. I run the lights plus the foglights through this fuse lead. The drivers side is just the Power LED on my sub amp. It all turns on automatically when the key is in the ON position. I will probably wire it all to my foglight switch so I can turn the dash lights off during the day, but since one of the bulbs on the fogs is burnt out, and I have to take apart my whole dash, this may take a while............ I am excited to see the car slowly coming together. Today marks the second year anniversary of having the Bucket, and it is nice to see it last more than 6 months like the 6 cars that croaked before it. I think this is showing that I am both maturing nicely, and just taking better care of my vehicle, things, and above all, myself. swez on 03/30/2008 04:23:29 FYI: When running AUX Fog lamps, you'll want to use a relay and perhaps a separate dash switch to turn them on/off as needed. Most Fogs are 55 watt lamps per each and they need a dedicated circuit and remote switch to activate. If you add internal lighting on that circuit, just make sure the relay, wiring and inline fuse can accomodate additional current draw. Yes, you have grown and matured a lot in the past 2 years.
