Hey Let's see some spring break stories & links to pictures of the debauchery. USFLAG That oughtta liven things up. Replies (13) newB on 03/20/2008 17:57:20 oh man. plenty of FAIL pix comming soon to a forum near you i'll try and keep swez happy- although no guarantees GRIN COFFEE -Drew MrBrownstone on 03/20/2008 18:25:06 The only way to keep Swez happy is to reelect Bush for a 3rd term. That or bring back tube amplifiers...because of the technical innovation. EL FIN SARCARSMO Ash on 03/21/2008 07:31:34 I rode my bike over the bridge to spring break land the past weekend. Being in Panama City around this time of year you would think there would be plenty to do. Well after a quick cruise to the pier where most of the breakers gather, I parked to give my buns a rest and take a look around. After all these years the same ole thing. People cruising the strip, hollering at the girls, acting silly on rented mopeds, and all waiting for the evening to get drunk. It's not hard to see why predators lurk around here waiting for some unlucky vacationer. Just last week a security guard coerced some young girl (16-18 maybe) into a empty condo. There he tried to rape her and then when unsuccessful, threw her off the balcony from the sixth floor. Lucky for her there was several flights of stairs and a roof to a lower building that broke her fall. She survived and was able to tell her story plus identify the culprit. Needless to say he was already wanted from another state amongst other charges and was captured quickly. My thing is, exactly what was on her mind going off by herself with someone she didn't even know? Did she realize that if she would have died, the authorities simply would have deemed it "just another drunken student falling off the balcony incident"? This does occur every year so it wouldn't have been suspicious. How many times has this guy or any other done this? swez on 03/21/2008 11:07:14 Hey, I understand "debauchery" and lived it to the fullest in days gone by. It seemed fun and harmless in that day, but the stakes are much higher now. Look at Ash's post... this is not a random annomoly! It happends each year and teen girls are the targets for deranged minds. These "innocents" don't have a clue until it's too late. In this case, she survived the ordeal, but what scars will haunt her for the rest of her life? Anyway, THINK of the consequences as life lessons to the many who do not know what they are doing just yet. It may seem like like an adventure and just a departure from the pressures of college life for a short time. However, it can turn south and lead to unintended consequences later. Swez Ash on 03/21/2008 21:12:54 Sorry Mr. B if that wasn't what you was looking for.... Truth is, kid's nowadays don't really know how to have fun. Even when it was my turn to go out on the beach spring breaking, there was some antics but mostly harmless. It was a rare few that dabble into the dark areas. As for the rest of us, it was merely just as labled, a break from all the pressures of adolescence. Since then, an outbreak use of illicit drugs have really demeaned the normally harmless rite. I talk to a lot of the younger generation at times just to see "where their head is at" and it is often scary, the perceptions & ideals they contain that is. Me being 37, am caught between the generation gap and even I still can't seem to figure them out at times. God help them all....... MrBrownstone on 03/23/2008 22:27:15 oh well. I was looking for anyone doing anything other than what we are. Me? playing nonstop poker when not mischievizing. gotsomechange on 03/31/2008 11:56:48 Two words... Trout Fishing... They (stealhead) are suposed to be here by now, but my brother and dad have already been to the Flat, and the Rogue rivers, and it's just too early... I'm on spring break in a week, so they'd better hurry themselves up... Because as soon as I get outta' work I'm headed down to the basement for my trout rods and I'm gone... Now, I know Swez has somethihng to say... Michigan's trout fishing is what my spring break is all about... Anyone else? Ash on 03/31/2008 18:45:47 Missed my trout fishing for the winter. Winter hasn't been steady here in Florida for the past few years so speckled trout (sea trout) was quite slow. I didn't even bother to go though I went out and bought a few lures. Maybe if I get off my butt and repair my boat hull I could be ready for the next season's migration from off the flats to the mouths of the bayous. Since fishing isn't ready for you yet and spring break is right around the corner, perhaps you could get involved in some debauchery for Mr. B... GRIN gotsomechange on 03/31/2008 20:52:22 Yeah, I heard about the winter in Florida. My sister lives in Leesburge, so I kind of have an idea of how things went this year (it's been pretty diffrent this year up here in michigan aswell), I'd be wearing layers upon layers of clothing, talking to her on the phone and she's wearing shorts and a tee shirt, just finished mowing her lawn.... Debauchery? I don't really know about that one.. I'm still in highschool, and (I might be missunderstanding Debauchery..but) I don't really get into partying much anymore... I'm sure it'll get back to me in college, or after highschool, but things like that seemed cool my freshman year. Now, it just gets in my way of my main "missions" (Working, Fishing, ..Keeping my girlfriend happy..) And even if I can get out onto the river, I'm in desperate need of some waders.. I've been looking for some neoprene chest waders for the deeper parts of the Flat, and Rogue river (Michigan). I've been succesful at fishing just off the banks, but it would fill my stringers an awefull lot faster if I could get right down in there and really give those fish a lesson... I've been looking forward to Steelhead fishing since they've been in the rivers at the begining of the winter. They just haven't gotten far enough North for me to get em' yet... swez on 04/1/2008 05:34:57 Working is good as it provides a steady income for our hobbies and keeps the car in good repair. School is job one for now and later if you plan to stay in MI. Good jobs are hard to find w/o a college degree or specific training in medical or financial markets. Manufacturing and engineering jobs are harder to find too. Consider what's going to be "hot" in the next 10 years and structure your education to fit that need. Girlfriend? That's another can of worms. It's great to have a side-kick that is easy going, low maintenance and demands little of ones time and resources. Avoid high maint and "Drama Queens" at all costs. If they have to be the center and focus of all ones' attention, time to bail. Besides, when you hit college, there will be plenty of girls to hang out with if/as time permits. Now is a good time to focus on growing up, getting ready for the real world and enjoy the down time hobbies w/o a lot of pull from any one gal. I could say more, but will leave it at that for now... hehe Swez Victor on 04/1/2008 15:37:19 http://www.metacafe.com/w/1174296/ swez on 04/2/2008 02:22:34 That is priceless video Victor. The one that makes me laugh the most was the guy hauling hard on a very stout boat rod when his line breaks and the rod smacks him in right in the kisser. (That's got to hurt) The other one I like was the surf casting dad that hooked his young daugerters' hat off her head and tossed that and his bait right into the drink. (Any serious surf casting guy would never allow others to stand in range of his back cast) Great clips... Bravo!!! CLAP Swez ttocs on 04/2/2008 11:28:05 that one was the best I thought as well. It reminded me of one day when I was taking a customers dash off. I can't remember the make or model but I had a hooked pry tool behind the dash to pull it out when my tool slipped, and I punched myself in the lip.... There are some mistakes you only make once.
