I am installing a Jensen HU in a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire that seems to have a factory amp. Speakers do not work when wired to the existing factory wiring, though directly wired to the speakers they do. Crutchfield notes that there are no harnesses available for the vehicle even though Metra lists a GMOS-04 harness. I am thinking that the existing features of the fatory radio can be retained if a schematic of wire connections is available that would include door chime, retained power, amp-on power, sensors, illumination and dimmer, if applicable. I asssume that the outputs of the new after-market radio can be connected to former speaker connections routed to the factory amp, and that amp outputs of the new radio need no terminations. Please provide whatever information is available, and whatever advice you may have. I would rather not have to pay the $100 for the Metra harness, but do not want to lose necessary existing features.
