Hows my setup!

Been awhile since I posted anything on here, my past project hit a major snag when my car stopped working! So now I'm back and super better than before! I ditched the 84 Honda, and now I gots me the newest car I ever owned! A 2006 Dodge CHARGER DAYTONA R/T! PROUD

Now I just want to ask, what do you think of my setup!

The stock speakers I am not taking out cause they are Boston Acoustic and the 6.5 front door woofers sound like frikn 8's! So my type-r 5.25's and 6.5's are going up on the shelf till I can find a buyer along with my 3 year warranted PDX-4.100! So I am strictly running three subs and a head unit!

1. Alpine Type-X 12, with two Type-e 12's for my higher end bass.
2. An Alpine IVA-D105.
3. I am using an Alpine PDX-1.1000 for the type-x, and an Alpine MRP-F450 for the type-e's.

Any input for my plans would be greatly appreciated.

The type-x is and will stay in it's custom ported enclosure, while my type-e's will be fiberglassed in toward the back of my trunk pitched foward and upwards at the cabin, with the type-x facing the trunk. There will also be some amp racks in between my type-e's in the center of the trunk.PROUD

No comments or suggestions?

Am stuck on the dual Alpine Type-E's here... With the the Alpine Type-X and mentioned amp as the low end bass engine, are the type E's and added amp really needed?

I say this as you mentioned the stock BA's sound so good in the MB/MR region already... what else can one do? Being the "Minimalist" when possible, I ask the question... "Is less really more"? In this case, we need your comments to make any reasonable suggestions that make sense.

Think that over before responding,
Swez

PS Good to see you back and have a very nice ride too! HAPPY

I see your point very clearly Swez. The main reason I am installing the extra type e's is my old ride did not have any mid-bass what so ever. It was full of lows and highs, but not much else. So... I ordered the type e's for my mid and high end bass not knowing my piece of @#$% would crap out on me and go in the big sleep.

Seeing as I had already purchased the PDX 4.100 and a set of 5.25's and 6.5's to go in the car that had no system what so ever, I felt... whats the word... financially wastefull and didn't want to shelve my new subs and amp combo along with the other amp and speakers that I got an awesome deal on.

The type x and stock BA's would have sufficed anyone as you said and no one should need more, but I felt stuck in having something and not using it like the 550 dollar amp and 250 dollars worth of speakers was already bad enough. I guess I can say that I was not expexting the stock system to sound so sweet!

And I know the mix and mach type x and e would not sound right with both playing as a low end bass engine. So whats a guy to do when he's spent all this money on a car he thought he woulda had at least for a year and a half?

I guess the bottom line is I have all this extra stuff that was going in a different car, car crapped out, bought a new one that had a super nice stock system, and was carried away with all the excitement of all my new goodies and wanted to use them all! Plus I thought it would look pretty sharp with the plans i had drawn together in my head!!

P.S. I suppose I could sell my extra's on ebay... then use the money from there to possibly buy another type x!

Like most investment grade things we buy, they don't lose value too much when sitting in the original boxes and still brand new. If you don't need them now and do not see a need in the near-term, selling or trading them for something you do need makes a lot of sense. Even if it means waiting a while to get the right price for them, it's worth the wait.

I feel your pain and we all have/will experienced setbacks that makes one want to scream... so scream it out of your system and then take a step back and look at the options once the clouds of uncertainty have moved out.

If you wish, post a list of things you have and an e-mail addy. If one of our readers has an interest, they will contact you privately. We don't allow active selling or spamming at this site, but in this case... it's more like sharing info and seeing what kind of feedback comes in.

"Hey, I have some odds and ends just sitting around. If any are interested, shoot me an e-mail and we'll discuss the matter in private".

Heck, there are now 38 page views on this one alone. Others must be tracking it and who knows what that may lead to?

Well if there are any more page views, as swez mentioned I have some odds and ends laying around. If anyone is interested in my offer you can drop me an email @ trae.p21@gmail.com.

Hope that was where I was supposed to leave my email add swez if not no bad feelings if it's removed. Thanks for the advice cuz you just saved me like 950 bucks on the work I was gonna have done when I get home!! SMILE SMILE

Actually, consider starting a new post and see who picks up on the details.

"Have a few nice toys to sell/trade. If any are interested, shoot an e-mail my way and we can discuss the matter in private". (your e-mail addy)

List the items as noted above and see what comes back in time.

Swez

PS That's a pretty good savings and if you can recoup a good portion of the money spent on extra gear, all the better!

This has nothing to do with your audio set-up, although it sounds like it rock's! Any way I was wondering what you think of the car. I've been wanting to go test-drive one but I have a feeling that if I do I'll be driving it home!!

T-RAY on 03/20/2008 12:06:37
Well that feeling you have, if you want one, would be something you should follow through on! The main reason I wanted one was from a regular R/T with aftermarket wheels, white, with dual 6" racing stripes and I was drawn like a moth to the flame!

I was like you and wanted to just test drive one and think about getting one down the road but during the drive I was already sold before we got back! 5 frustrating hours and insurance hassling I was on my way home with no credit history and only 1000 down!

I'M STILL IN SHOCK!
