After all the audio bugs in my car, I need a fresh new project to do something custom with the car. Two weeks ago I put this crazy novelty horn in my buddy's car that makes all sorts of crazy animal sounds and whatnot, and I thought cool, but animal sounds? A wierd mod to a wierd kid's Volvo. But, it is slick, and worth a good laugh. So, I have to one up it, because having a customer car have something more funny than my "Bucket" emblems on my car simply cannot fly. I was thinking maybe a horn that shouts the hook from that popular Ludacriss song that everybody wants to yell at people in rush hour.......Keeping it PG here....... Unfortunalety, can't find one on the internet so far, mostly just the cavalry charge and stuff like that. Not gonna get my point across very well........... Anybody got any ideas?? Here in good ole redneckville I have installed about a dozen of these. If you have some time, you can buy a set of horns that have individual valves triggered by solenoids. I will walk you through how to wire them using momentary push button switches and relays to design your own mini keyboard and you can play your own tunes. SQLThump on 02/18/2008 19:21:34 I was thinking something more along the lines of actually having it shout "move *****, G et out tha way!", at the push of a button. The keyboard and multiple horns is a bit overkill. I just want the words, people have told me to get a PA system, but I don't want to yell in a mic, I want to push a button to get the point across. BTW, this is kind of a just for laughs kind of thing. If I can't get it right, a substitute won't cut it so well. Just something to make the homeboys laugh when I pull up in the cul-de-sac! cplkittle on 02/18/2008 20:09:15 I did once install a set of brass train horns under a semi. One was like 6' long, the other two were 4' or so. The guy bought the whole kit- air compressor, valves, horns, wires, etc.. 150+ Psi, 175+dB I could see this mounted on top of the hoopty bucket. Who needs words when you have 175dB? SQLThump on 02/18/2008 20:32:35 Nah, no trucker horn here! That would be sure to scare the living hell out of some poor dude though. I was driving from Wyoming to here one time, and my sister didn't turn off the brights as we approached. This guy had a rear mounted floodlight which he flipped on and scared the crap out of both of us to where we thought we had an omcoming car about to smash into us! I can only imagine a 175DB horn. I bet that thing would hurt even for the driver! Hmm, so where to go from here.......seems like something totally ghetto-fabulous would be needed to make this work......
