I'M INSTALLING A NAXA COMPACT DISC RECEIVER INTO A 1993 FORD TEMPO. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I DON'T HAVE A SCHEMATIC FOR THE CAR BECAUSE IT'S A USED CAR. THE WIRES FOR THE CAR STEREO IS DIFFERENT THAT THE WIRES FOR THE CD RECEIVER. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF SOME ONE ANY ONE THAT HAS THIS INFORMATION WOULD EMAIL IT TO ME. PLEASE LIKE YESTERDAY. What kind of radio was in the car? The books I have for factory wire colors are right maybe %50 of the time. You WILL need to test each wire before connecting that radio to it or you run the risk of blowin the deck or burning up something in you car. drivers front + orange/green - black/white pass front + white/green - black/white drvrs rear +pink/green - blue/orange pass rear +pink/blue -green/orange constant is yellow switched could be red/lt green or grey/yellow ford likes to use red as ground but I would go to the chassis. 1rst take a test light or volt meter and check EVERY wire in the dash for DC voltage with the key on, off, and then with the lights on(for the dimmer wire). After you have found all the power wires then insert a battery inbetween the wires you suspect for a speaker. If those wires are connected then the speaker will make a popping noise. If you hear no sound then replace one wire and try again. Also notice that the front - speakers are the same color. Test both of the black/white wires with each of the +'s(with the battery) and if you can get one speaker to pop with either black/white and one of the +'s then stop and let me know as this means you have a common ground wiring system and we will need to do something different. put a AA battery between the two wires that you suspect are for a speaker and if they are connected the speaker will make a "pop". If it does nothing then replace one wire with another and try again. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
