Do you think it's time to shift to a reliable and far more adaptable aftermarket solution? (Better EQ features, more power, maybe an I-Pod AUX feature and so much more) For about $200.00, there are so many better choices here.

Yes, there is a cost factor, but 2 failed Factory units in a row are a sign that GM has dropped the ball and cannot fix a lame design. "If the horse is dead... it's time to get off the horse."

How much do you wish to spend for a decent aftermarket radio?
Does this car have On Star feature and activated?
Does this car have the Bose Premium sound package?

PS Lose the Caps button please... it's considered shouting here and we all hear very well. No need to shout. ;-)

The reason there is such a selection and stable market for aftermarket CD players is that the factory radios suck.

You will be so much happier with an aftermarket radio. The only problem you may run into is if you have onstar and want to keep it. In that case, there is a $100 module that you will have to buy.
Other than that, you will need a mounting kit ($15), a wiring harness ($15), and an antenna adapter ($10). DO NOT CUT THE FACTORY RADIO PLUG OFF! That is what the $15 wiring harness is for.

If you install it yourself you can save $40-$60 on installation fees.
we will walk you through it if you have any problems.

If you get the proper wiring harness, all you have to do is match up the same color wires. We will walk you through every step. First, tell me if this is what the factory plug looks like:

The plug you need is called a GM 21 pin for year models 1988 and up. It will have the number 1858 in it somewhere.
Best kits # BHA 1858
Metra # 70-1858

The antenna adapter is either going to be a stubby 2" adapter or a 6" cable. Both do the same thing. If your antenna wire is long enough to plug into the new radio, you can use the short one.

To install a new radio into your vehicle, you will need a mounting kit. It will look something like this:

Sometimes these are made for multiple vehicles, so you might have to clip a tab or two off to get it to fit. It will bolt up just like your factory radio did, and the new radio will fit in the slot.

The good news is that the parts you need are some of the most common parts used for GM radio installations.. ANY car audio shop where you live should have these on hand. Total cost for all parts should be no more than $30-$40. You can probably get everything onine for around $20.

We don't sell anything on this site, but we will help you chose the radio that fits your needs. Do you have any in mind at this time?

I will inquire about the donation button. It should take you to a paypal site.
