need opinion on Rockford

I found a great deal on two 10" Rockford P3s and a T5002 amp. I want to install it in my 2003 GMC ext cab. How hard will these hit given the limited airspace and should I go with the shallow mount subs? IS there any difference in the performance between these and the standard depth subs?

the Aero port Dual chamber tri tune i just built was for a 10P3 and it sounds really nice, strong woofer for the price and i would recommend it for quality budget entry level woofers

The sound difference between shallow mount and deep mount subs is debateable. The shallow mount subs have less of an Xmax, but in comparison, I don't think there is much difference in terms of sound. I have installed several shallow mount subs in both sealed and ported boxes and to be honest, they really surprised me.

The difference between a standard depth and shallow one is the available space to attain the desired response. A good response is more important than overblown xmax figures, especially if the design does not utilize the full throw.

You have to be careful of some "shallow mount" subs as they still require the same airspace of a standard woofer which negates the advantage of a slim woofer. Theres a few companies that missed the entire point of limited space.

Efficiency into the low frequencies will be more determined by sub/box tuning rather than how much a sub can excurse. Think about it.... It will only work harder to drop lower if it's not resonating naturally there in the first place. A lower box cutoff frequency will be more efficient in the lower region in the first place and therefore will not require as much throw.
