The front speakers worked well, but the rear speakers were very quiet. Are they amped separately? Is there something I can do to make it work? Replies (2) swez on 01/19/2008 09:35:32 Chances are good that if you have the premium Infinity upgrade in the factory package, it has outboard amps to power all speakers. In this case, it would seem the rear speaker amp channels are not getting power to bring up adequate volume in the back speakers. If this factory HU is not an Infinity package, I would double check the wire splices at new HU install harness. They may be inadequately spliced or polarity is out of phase in the rear speakers and the cancellation affect would be very notable. (Especially at lower bass and midbass frequencies) That would account for low output in non-amped systems. Got all that? Swez ttocs on 01/20/2008 18:35:14 the also like to put one amp on each speaker, and by on I mean it is mounted directly to it. There are 4 wires that go to the speaker, 2 for the audio(+ and -) and then a switched power that also provides power for the amp on the speaker, and then the ground for the amp. Often times if you wire the new decks remote turn on to the factory remote turn on you will try to take more power then the new deck can handle. The aftermarket remote turn on does not have enough current to drive the infinities amps so what you need to to is wire the factory remote turn to the +12v switched power. The factory amps will turn on and off with the key rather then with the deck but it will work fine. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
