I want to ad 1 or 2 subwoofers to my 93' bmw 525i get some bass enhancement. I like all types of music but not a lot of hip hop, so I don't care to rock the neighborhood w/ booming bass...I just want a good bass enhancement for most types of music. The reason I'm considering 2 vs. one... a stereo installer told me there was a lot of metal and material between the trunk and inside my car and I wouldn't probably get the bass I would like with only one 10" subwoofer. The 2 inexpensive options I have are buying 1 or 2 Visonic enclosed self amplified 200W 10" subwoofers. They are each in their own enclosed box with their own 200W amp and self powered. I was considering 2 in the trunk vs. 1 to make sure of a good prescence of bass. Or I have access to a good price on 1 or 2 200W bazooka type tube subwoofer with an 8" speaker. Question1 ] Most everyone goes to the trunk w/ a subwoofer. What about putting the subwoofer sitting in my back seat? I never carry anyone back there. I would assume 1 sub would be sufficient here would it not? If this is a viable option would you point and fire the speaker at the front seats or point and fire it into the backseat face down? Question 2 } Not being real familiar with the sound and perormance of the 2 subs mentioned above (enclosed vs. bazooka) , which would give me the best all round bass for most music types? I feel the bazooka type tube sub is more for a thumping and boom which would favor hip-hop and rap...maybe not. Thx again for your help. (Trying to avoid the expense of the time and $$ involved with trial & error) Replies (1) ttocs on 01/6/2008 22:33:35 putting it in your backseat will not only getto-fy that 5 series the way no bimmer should be but will also make a neat object to either find a creative way to secure, or to catch if/when you have an accident in it. I suppose if you went crazy with the seatbelts and some bungy cords it MIGHT stay there if you have a wreck, but the theives will take your window and what ever else is valuabe in the car probably long before any accident. Is the gastank behind the back seat? Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
