Im looking for the best box design for my truck. Its a 2003 GMC extcab. Ive seen enclosures that fire up, down, and even some that fire forward. Any info on the best sounding design would be greatly appreciated..

what kind of music do ya like? How much time/money do you want to put into it?

Im pretty diverse in my taste in music...but mostly rock and hip hop. Time isnt an issue...money is to an extent. The most bang for the buck would would be nice. I found a fiberglass enclosure but they want 500 bucks for it but that doesnt necessarily mean its the best does it? Thanks for the reply.

Trucks are tough to buy sub gear for because you normally will pay 2 to 3 times what your buddy with a car will pay because everyone mkes mdf boxes for cars but only a few make boxes for trucks and the ones that do usually make them out of molded plastic.

If your going with one sub, building a simple box yourslf wouldbe fairly easy but if you want 2 subs then the build could get complicated.

I hade a 2003 Silverado with 1 12" Type S that was inverted for the sub to fire 2" away from the floor . The sound was very clean @ 128db!! 128db wont make your mirror fall off but at 40yrs. old its all I needed.

I really liked mine firing @ the floor .

I still have that box but cant use it in the new truck.
