Subs and Amp Question. Confused!

I have a 4-channel MTX 404 (400W RMS), which I am using to run my 2 10" MTX RT10's (200W RMS a piece). I know this isn't the most ideal set up, but it makes due.

I was wondering if there is anything I can do that would give me more power. Would using the whole amp on one sub be more effecient or just keep it how it is? Or any other suggestions? Thank you.

If these subs are 4 ohm units, you can bridge the amp down to a stronger 2 channel configuration and get about 200 watts RMS per channel, per sub.

To do this, each sub needs it own set of external wires to their respective amp channels. That may mean rewiring the subs inside the box.

If this is the woofer enclosure and subs you have now, each sub is a 4 ohm unit and each sub has its own external wiring cup. This will work!

Before diving into this project, read your amp manual carefully to learn how to properly bridge the amp, set the LP filters and gain controls. The newer TE-404 has a bridged MONO mode feature that is ideal for subs. In all, a nice little amp for all around use.
