Hey, I ahve a 1985 Chevy Silverado single cab, that I am looking to put in some subs behind the seat...As you probably ahve figured there is not much room... And I want to fit a pretty good sounding system back there...SO far I ahve an eclipse deck and 2 door speakers (pioneer 6x9's) I want to put in some subs that kick really good...but I havent discovered anything that can fit behind my seat..I need to put a custom box back tehre I guess....Any suggestions on what sub/s to get? And any suggestions on a custom box for them?

i have a 82 chevy single cab. im going through the same situation.
i have a pioneer deh 850mpHU,infinity 3.5's in dash and the cdt cl61a's 6.5's components in the door
how'd you get 6x9's in the door?
i am going to have a box built for 2-10" for the dimensions behind my seat,,i haven't made my mind on which subs yet-been too busy working.
i've checked out the alpine type r's, the infinity kappa & perfects,, and even the ma audio.
when i get everything together i'll let you know how it sounds

Yep, those trucks are hard to work with in terms of fitting subs behind the seat.

Do you have buckets, split bench or a full bench seat in this truck? If you have a full bench seat, real tough to configure and enclosure that can use anything larger than a pair of 10's. A modified wedge design is you best bet. But if you have buckets or a split seat arrangement, there are a few more options.

How much space do you have when the driver's seat is in the most conforatable positon for you? Height, width and depth? The depth is most important as this will deternine what size subs you can use. Most 10's have a depth of ~6.0", so anything under 8" deep can be a real issue to deal with.

How much bass power are you thinking about? (amping power in watts)

There are many boxes for many subs that will fit that truck. I have seen 3-12" squeezed in. If you think there is not space there, check a regular cab ranger...
