Hey,

A friend has just finished installing my new sub (Kicker VC12)and amp (Cadence FX602).

Radio works great but can't get any sound when I play a CD.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Andy

Do you mean no bass when playing CD's but have bass when radio is used?

That often means the amp's remote turn on lead has lost power when connected to HU with a power antenna feature. In tuner mode, that lead has power. But when switching to CD/AUX modes, the antenna power is cut off and the sub amp shuts off too.

To fix that, most aftermarket HU's have both power antenna and amp remote signal wires. If using the factory HU, we usually suggest a new power line connection to the 12 volt ACC/IGN wire circuit supplied on the HU harness or use a dedicated line that has constant power and use a dash mounted manual switch and fuse the line to 0.5A's. (1/2 amperes)

Comments?

In other words: Use the blue wire with the white stripe for a remote, the solid blue is for a power antenna.

Thanks for the advice. Will get someone to give it a try and see if it works.
