i was looking for ipod adapters for my clarion dxz845mc but i couldnt find one. now my question is if my hu is compatible for an ipod adapter and if so were do i find one of these at. any comments would help. thank you

This HU does have an AUX input system on the back of the HU. It consists of short RCA pigtails and accessed via the AUX menu feature in this HU.
Here's what Crutch says:

The "Music Catcher" is pretty neat too. It would be nice if there were more RAM available, but with the compression/expander circuit used in this HU, it may not sound half bad on all but the most demanding music content you choose.

You can play the I pod thru the Aux input by buying a simple RCA pair to 1/8" single pin to the headphone jack of the I pod. You cannot charge or control the I pod thru the head unit though. You will have to use the I pod to access what you want to play.
