I had been saving up to get some good rca cables($50 is tight for me now) and finally got them together. I was able to get some good JL cables (4 channel and a 2 channel)for a good deal that I will discuss later. I had some final soldering to do to finish the amp rack and hook everything up. I was able to complete everything that I wanted to be able to pull the amp rack quickly if I want to go to the track(like my box). I made a wood piece at the top of the amp rack that I was able to fit all my connections on. I found some nice 9-pin hrns's that will allow me to easily disconnect the 8 speaker wires, and remtoe turn on for each amp(soldered). I mounted these on the wood piece I made for the connections of the amp rack, along with 6 channels(front, rear, sub) of female rca ends that I also soldered onto some nice monster cable rca's that I butchered. For the power connections I ran power wires from the amps to the same place I have the disconnects for the speaker and rca. I put a ring terminal on them, drilled a hole through the piece of wood that I mounted all the connections to, and ran a bolt through the ring terminal and the wood. I put another ring terminal on the power cables that I ran to the distrobution block, and now with a wing nut I can disconnect the power wires for both amps. I grounded both amps to the same point on the chassis, and it also doubles as a mounting point for the amp rack. By twisting another wing nut I will disconnect the grounds as well as then be able to lift the rack striaght out. I will not show the ground when I post pics as I do not want to give step by step instructions for a anyone that wants to remove it. If I ain't thiere it ain't commin out but I am willing to bet I will be able to pull out over 100 lbs of equipment in only a few minutes with the help of one person.......... It took me a little bit to tune it as one of my subs somehow was out of phase and when you are running 4 it takes a little while to figure out. After correcting that and adjusting the gain I gave it a small crank and wow. I can say that my thought that the old small alpine amp was not powering the subs enough was right. 5X the RMS power to the amp seems to have fixed this as I was amazed to remember that there were only "only" 8's playin, 4 of them mind you but the low end was better then any 8 I have heard(thankfully huh!). I did not get to play with it long as when I went to put my dash in with all the wires I have added it was giving me trouble(radio mounting really). I finally called it quits about 930 pm when I realized I was pissed enough to fource it in place, time to step away. Thinking about it later I think I have a better way to do it. I traded my toolbox at the shop with the remains of the tools that I didn't need for $150 worth of stuff at the shop(dynamat and cables). My stomach has continued to bother me and prevented me from going to work since july. I have been on short term disablility with this and it does not seem to be getting any better. We have tested everything including an exploratorive surgery but have no idea what it is and now even my dr's at mayo at tellin me that this may be as good as it gets. I have been working on the car here and there when I feel good but It is common that I need to drop everything and stop at any time(my problem at work is it is hard to get out of a clean room quickly). It seems my allergies have become ultra sensative and avoidence works but I am literally allergic to almost everything now. Because of the saw dust, chemical fumes and dirty cars I have not been in the shop since the biginning of the year but my toolbox has. With the realization that this is as good as it gets came the realization that there was alot of stuff I have that I may not use again such as my tool box(I have one at home with most of what I need), my camping and traveling stuff might be next. It looks like I will be applying for long term disability shortly. So the joy that the system sounds as good as I hoped is kinda bitter sweet. I still have to finsh the package tray so that I can mount the 3 ways x-overs and then wire it all for speaker and it will be done. I have been driving around with out rear speaker now for some time and as much of a fan or rear fill as I am it has grown on me. I decided to bi-amp the front 3 ways(200 watts x 4 should make them sing!) and either use the rear audio fill(RAF = a bandpass attenuated signal output that is built into the x-overs as an optional out) or possibly the rear speaker out on the deck, if at all rather then dedicate a channel on the amps for ther rear signal. Gonna go put my dash back together now.... (It works!) Lots of allergies now too huh? That might suggest your immune system is way out of whack too. Prolonged stress will do this and also contribute to other physical issues as noted. Some medications can also compromise the natural body immunities. That might be worth a closer look? Most docs won't ask how we handle stressors in daily life. Some vent it readily, (Raging a lot) while others stuff it and blow a gasket later. A better plan is to monitor stess levels and dial back on stress producing situations when possible. If we don't, it will boomarang later and show up in our bodies in many somatic ways. Swez out... COFFEE PS I truly resonate with your struggles Scott... we are co-miserating in a way... but it's real tough to be alone too much, cash poor and few enjoyable activities to break up the voids. That's probably the root of most of what we are dealing with here... coping with things that are not easily identified, fixable and too much time alone is tough too. A man needs to feel a sense of purpose, a way to get there and willing to struggle and flex to find inner peace. Comment as you like... it's a safe place here to explore alternative options and vent when needed. Sometimes we just need to let it all out, get some fresh ideas and try again. jamesp on 11/30/2007 10:42:20 Ttocs, after years of IBS type symptoms and auto immune problems I found this product and feel better than I have in years. Check out this web site. you can only peruse the "patient" portion of it but it is good stuff, not snake oil. Almost all of my inlaws are Pharm d. pharmacists or doctors and are recommending this product to many of thier patients. You might want to consider giving it a 2 month trial. It helped me out more than I can say. I am in no way associated with this company but think it may help you out from the description of the problems you have had. By the way, I was never even diagnosed with IBS and or any other named disease but the problems were very real. Good luck man.I use the IntraMax product, http://www.druckerlabs.com/index.html ttocs on 11/30/2007 12:15:00 thankfully working for a large corporation I am lucky to have excellent health benifits, I hope to keep them. THanks for the kind words guys, don't worry I am not that bad. I am also blessed with some wonderfull parents that can and are willing to help anytime I need. I am not alone. I will take a look into that stuff but I HAVE to read the what is in EVERYTHING I take now. I don't suppose they have the ingredients anywhere do they? I learned a long time ago to stop right before I have my foot on the dash that I am about to force into place. I don't like leaving foot prints on dashes and that is the best case scenario to the Nike methode of installing. Since I am working at my own pace, and on my own car I can simply walk away and try it later. I took a 60 min drive this morn and jammed the stereo. I wanted to get the amp hot enough to turn on its cooling fan so I could tell which way it directs air, so I can arrange my cooling fans in the amp rack correctly. I enjoyed the drive with the volume at a fairly high level and threw everything from Live dave mathews to techno and rap and I am happy to say that appearently boatloads of clean power have overcome any problems the box had before. I was able to confirm that the amp can draw more then 40 amps of current not only with the current meter on my dash but when it blew the 40 amp fuse in my dist block that I had for the old amp. I had a new 100 amp ready and threw it in. After driving at almost full volume for that time(WHAT?) the amp was only barely warm but the fan had kicked on. I had the gain set just a little more then 1/2 way so I bumped it up a slight bit as well as the x-over. I found out the crossover is a Butterworth and with the subsonic filter it seems to do an amazing job Now I really can't wait to finish this last push and get the speakers wired and mounted. I have never done bi-amped 3 ways so tuning it will be fun but that other amp(exactly the same as my sub amp) with the same x-over should control them nicely..... I should be happy with all this but I still am dreaming of some kind of EQ being the tweeker that I am. I do not have any more dash space to mount a display so it I am dreaming of the RF360 with all I hear about it. jamesp on 11/30/2007 13:22:51 E mail them and ask for an ingredient list...it is a very long list but the product is ultra hypoallergenic. It is full chealeated minerals but I think the adaptagenic properties of many of the ingredients is the key to the healing properties. It doesnt have any of the folling stuff in it: intraMAX® does NOT contain: preservatives, colloids, fat, cholesterol, wheat, gluten, caffeine, corn, yeast, rice flour, peanuts, nuts, soy, dairy, fish or fish oil, animal products, artificial additives, artificial colors, artificial flavors, fillers, pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, starch, binders, coatings, excipients, or flow agents Drucker labs is not one of these BS multi level magical elixer marketing companies that are out there. My father in law has helped many of his patients with this product. It has to be sold by licensed health care professionals...but you can buy it online with a consultation with one.If you can take it it is definitly worth a shot. ttocs on 11/30/2007 22:01:33 that is the first I have heard of that one, maybe I'll put it on my x-mas list........ swez on 12/1/2007 21:56:02 James is pointing to a better way to a healthy immune system that has been compromised by synthetic drugs, overly processed foods and all the toxins that build up in the body over time with the typical American diet. The typical food we eat is full of additives, hormones and other tamperings that prolong the shelf life of a given food stuff. If we knew all the facts about how most food is over-processed, we'd start our own organic farming plots and rarely eat fast foods, pre-packaged food and most things at a typical restaurant or most grocery stores offer. (No laughing matter) I am convinced we are killing ourselves by eating most processed foods and using Big Pharma drugs to manage symtoms of a basically lousy diet. It's big business making and selling such things that have caused ailments that were never part of the natural food chain and herbal remedies that are practiced in many other cultures. Yes, the body can adapt to a degree and there are some very effective disease control drugs that have improved our lives over the past 50 years. However, getting back to a basic diet, regular exersize and keeping our toxin levels low ='s a better quality of health. Since you have great insurance, the system will milk you for every dime they can get. The health care system in this country is fixated on dealing with the symptoms. But they are not interested in curing the body and keeping it healthy. There is much more money to be made by managing the symptoms then going to the root cause and fixing it there.... 1. A healthy diet 2. Adequate rest 3. Stress reduction 4. Regular exersize 5. Eliminate toxic by-products in our food and water In a nutshell, the AMA is based on disease management. It does not look deeper at systemic wellness and keep us disease/toxin free. Big Pharma Companies spend millions of R&D dollars each year to manage symptoms, but not cure the sick. They will not acknowledge herbal and homeopathic remedies that cannot be patented. (There is no/little profit in this methodology of wellness care) A well-skilled Homeopathic resource may be your best bet. It may take longer to get the desired results, but James is leading you there and I agree. Get off the treadmill that does not work and look seriously and carefully at natural ways to bring the body back to work as designed w/o all the expensive and ineffective ideas pushed by most practioners. Hang in there Scott... it took years to get you to this state of poor health. It will take time to purge the body of toxins that are making you feel lousy. You are not alone and it takes a determined person to get back on track to well-ness. Swez PS I need this message as much as you do my friend. Am doing some homework already, but there's a lot to this and it takes time. There are no quick fixes here.
