I am wondering how the site is doing financially these days. I would hate to see CK go down due to lack of funds. I am not trying to find out how much reserves and so forth there is but would like to insure there is adequate support to keep CK up and running. I know that money can be tight this time of year for a lot of people. I came here about a year ago looking for help and I got it. Some of the audio sites that I posted my questions to at the time were ridiculous. There people calling names and saying that others were idiots and had no idea what they were doing. This site is relativley small and closer knit and there are people willing to devote the time and know how to get help to guys like me that need it. If this site is in danger of being closed at some point due to lack of funding will we know about it in time to try and raise a few bucks to keep it going? I hope so. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving......JamesP Replies (4) cplkittle on 11/21/2007 23:48:09 'tis the season. I plan to chip in a few hamiltons again this year when my bonus rolls around. (if I am worth a bonus this year). swez on 11/22/2007 09:37:47 Good question and since that part of our page has not been updated in a long time, hard to say where things are right now. Walt... any inputs to add on this one? If I recall rightly, it takes about $60.00/month to pay the bills for this site. It appears that Walter also has some advertising income available. How much that actually generates is anyone's guess. We can help by clicking on these links before signing in. If we just hit 2-3 each time before logging in, that might be very helpful? (Just make sure to have good spam/spyware filters as these give away our IP addresses which can be used later to fill up our in boxes w/ junk mail) I could be wrong, but still a good precaution step. Swez gotsomechange on 11/24/2007 12:17:10 just wondering, i dont really know how this works, but would it be possible to get a donation/sponsorship from sites like crutchfield and sonicelectronix? iv'e seen you guys use it as a refrence site to get a better idea of what people are talking about when they spout out a model number im just sayin, some people might look at it as a refrence site, but still buy it from their site (might be a motive for that site to donate money) swez on 11/24/2007 13:47:46 That would take a little marketing savvy and perhaps some kind of proof that we do indeed help others buy from a given site or online store. It may not mean a set in stone contract, but more a gentleman's agreement... "If we do this for your store, (Steer buyers there) we ask for a %age to support CK"? It may also work in the form of a coupon type deal where this site gets coupon codes and buyers use them to get a better deal and CK gets a sales stipen when each code is regestered at the time of the sale. The trouble here might be tracking all this with preferred vendors and insuring they do indeed honor the coupon, give a fair price to the buyer and them process the coupon in a timely manner. The idea sure has some merit to look into... Comments? Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
