I finally got my kicks covered. It took a little while to find a good match and also to figure out how I was going to cover them. It was certainly the most difficult shape I have covered but in the end they do not look too bad. There is a spot or two that I would like to be a little better but I am 90% happy with them. Now I only hope the glue holds through the hot phoenix summer because with as tight as that material is stretched it is libal to go break a window when it finally does come off.
I don't know why but for some reason some people have problems with the hyper links to cardomain? If so then co to cardomain.com and I am ride #2395420 and the kicks are on page 10.

Very nice Scott. I've taken a break from covering my fiberglass box. I have carpet to cover it but I'm kinda dreading the unusual shape to cover. Do you have any tips for covering the curvy shapes? It looks like the momstang is coming together very nicely. Kudos! GRIN

carpet is nothing as long as you have a good, stretchy unbacked carpet and some good glue(3M super 77 at least, 90 preferable). You can yank and pull on that stuff to get it to stretch around almost anything. vinyle is different since it will only stretch in on direction so you have to plan accordingly. What shape is your box? You made it to go in the corner of your trunk right? The hardes part of carpeting is making the edges and seams look good but if you are not going to show one side then there is not much to worry about.

I feelysa on the vinyl. I worked with some before and it's not easy. It will show any surface perfection that you overlooked, but once you get it right.....

if you cut off your toes I bet you could fit into a 12, what do toes do anyway unlesss your a freak fer them like mr b probably is. Hopefully you were planning on keeping your toes away from B anyway...

The toes give us balance and dexterity while walking, running, biking ect... just as the fingers do for a hand.
The body can learn to compensate for a few lost digits, but the learning curve is not fun.

Back to covering boxes and making edges look good... I have seen a few with 1"x1" aluminum angle on the corners. It gives it an industrial look and covers the corner seams nicely.

kicks look good!! i personally can't handle the lack of a dead pedal, but the sound quality i'm sure will justify it. nice work.
