just got a legacy ldtsn7 in-dash monitor
was wondering if there was away to wire in the reversing signal some way else.
do you wire in the illuminating control to 12 v constent
is this radio any good??????????????

The reversing signal has to go to the backup lights. I don't know what other way you were thinking or hoping to do it.
The illumination wire dims the lights on the radio when you turn the lights on in your car. If the car does not have an illum or dimmer wire, do not use it. I never connect them anyway.
Legacy does not have the best reputation, but I am not familiar with the model. It may turn out to be a nice piece of equiptment. Most of the complaints about Legacy come from their amplifiers and how much they overrate them on output.
