OK folks
In recent years, I've dressed up as both old & young Elvis. I've done baby new year with an adult diaper. I've also done the grim reaper as well as Eric Cartman. This year is a little different.
While some folks are doing firefighters, I wore a Rancho Bernardo Jersey. Instead of the team mascot, I chose a string with garlic, onion, green pepper, and used tongs to readjust my 'necklace'. When people asked what I was supposed to be, I said, "A shish kabob".
So, was that A) tasteless, or B) insensitive?

Uhm, in MexiCali, anything goes well with what was mentioned. Sounds pretty OK to me if you netted some treats, played a few tricks and had a good time in the process.
A few years back, would put on a pair of waders, put on a fishing vest, a fishin cap and grab a guitar and play music for the kids as they came up the drive for candy. When they asked what I was dressed as, I said.... "The Fishin' Musician". That sufficed and it was kinda corny, but a lot of fun too.
Ahhh, I miss taking my little tikes out for candy now-a-days. They are too old for that stuff now and too far away too. (So I digress) But will cherish those memories til the day I am called out of this world for a better place. (Hoping that is a long time from now too)

Anybody else bust out any over the top costumes? I wnet as a super soldier from my favorite videogame, and had a blast. I was all camo-ed out and had the full military pistol belt and suspenders and had tons of fun watching trick or treaters walk right past where I was hiding, and freak out when I snuck up from behind and yelled "FREEZE!" Oh, what a hoot. I love Halloween! To bad its a full year away.

I just believe that portraying a character is far more appropriate as a masquerade than as a tribute to decadence. I couldda dressed up as a wildfire.

Whoa, no help needed being a promicious individual, I just wish I could have it be socialy acceptable to dress like a nutjob the other 364 years. Halloween rocks, and this year, the spirit was nonexistant. There was hardly anybody dressed up, including kids. We had less than 50 kids come up too.
Could bust out some pics of a great costume if it will make you feel any better B.........
