But the good news is, found a new option to manage the problem at hand... NO, it's a private party and we'll just leave it at that.... GRIN Swez jamesp on 09/27/2007 10:35:25 Trunhis loud, I dont have the menu untill I log in. Iam by no means a gold member. I do have a star for donating a few sheckels to the site. Try making a donation to the site. When you get the acknowledgment star next to your name you should be able to access the menu. You look up names alphabetically and whatever info the member listed in thier profile will be there.... The first letter of a members name is case sensitive when using the alphabetical index. It'll only cost ya a few quids to get hooked up. For instance, when I click on the lower case "t", scroll down to you name, I find this; Ive been interested in this "noise" since i was 13. my cousin had a 68 camaro with two pyramid superblue 15's. That hooked me. So as the years progressed i had multiple setups of cheap + quality equipment and havnt quite got it right yet. Thats what this site is for. www.clubknowledge.com Year, Make and Model: 1989 chevy 1500 When you have the gold star, the Google ads are also removed from the site pages. Click on anybody's gold star and it takes you to the donation page. The bottom of this page tells you that the Extra Menu will be activated for contributors. ttocs on 09/27/2007 13:39:06 ttocs=scott 32 yr old virgo my favorite color is blue I moved to pheonix from souther indiana 7rs ago and my ride is found at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2395420/1 and you? trunkisloud on 09/27/2007 19:49:24 hey swez whose being impotent?? .... swez on 09/27/2007 22:57:35 Hehe... good question and can assure you it's not my concern!!! Uhm, do you want to know more about our hobbies, interests and such? If so, just ask and I'll fabricate something. Important: Someone who has a weighty position and knows their stuff. Impotent: One who has lost interest, verility or forgot how to.... (you know...) "No lead in the pencil" or no partner to write to an does not care. Go figure huh? trunkisloud on 09/27/2007 23:34:48 dude...youre confusing me....i just wanted to see peoples info.... swez on 09/28/2007 09:43:46 OK, here are a few things in my profile: Swez (Dave) Age: 51 Location: Western burbs, Detroit, MI area Hobbies: Fishing, golf, DIY'er and Audio junkie Occupation: Pro/Commercial Audio Contractor, Distribution/Sales Rep for INB, Inc. (New job that is just ramping up) At the moment, most of my car audio gear is in boxes and collecting dust. Am hoping to get a newer ride in the future and am not going to invest the time and aggrivation of installing this gear in a 92 Buick LeSabre. (PITA dash install) No more GM junk vehicles for this ol man!!! 4 Channel amp: US Acoustics USA-4060 Sub amp: JBL Decade Series DA-1002 (2 channel, ~350 Wrms @ 4 ohms, CAS 2006 rating) Subs: Sound Stream SPL-10's (Sealed, 0.7 Qts) Monster Cables and Knukonceptz wiring hardware HU: Sony CDX-C6850 (Oldie but goodie) Speakers: TBD at a later time Am considering selling off the amps and replace them with a well matched amping system later. (Leaning toward a JL 250/1 or 500/1 and a 300/4) As for speakers, Infinity seems to be a favorite after installing a few for others. (Like that JBL/Infinity sound) Diamonds would be nice too. We'll see how the budget goes for 2008. Will be chopping the sub box down as well. (Sealed and a higher "Q" for better punchy bass) These 10's do fair low bass, but a bit muddy in the larger sealed box I have now. Also have an older pair of 12" MTX subs that seem pretty solid too. These are 4 ohm SVC's and handle about 250 Wrms/ea. From previous tests, they sound best in a 0.85 - 1.0 ft^3 sealed box. Have a pair of Bahn 5-1/4" MR speakers that Mr. B sent a few years back. They are very efficient, have good MB/MR characteristics and sounds very good in a small, sealed mounts. These were originally 6x8" plates, but hated the metal Tweets and tossed them along with the cheap plastic plates and ultra-cheap crossovers they came with. A better crossover and silk tweets would bring this pair up to a very strong front stage system. (100 watts RMS/driver, 94dB SPL @ 2.83 volts) Yes, it's a hodge-podge of mix and match gear for the moment, but some changes are likely in the next install. (SQL all the way Baby) Am also considering an EQ/LD for this HU. Clarion or Bahn AEQ? seem to be good candidates right now. Have installed the AEQ6 in one clients truck and loved the way it worked out and looks. That's the plan for now. Have been mostly investing in quality fishing gear the past 2-1/2 years. A few more items are pending and then I will get back on track with with the Car Audio system plans. Swez PS As you may know, really enjoy helping others here at CK and another forum too. Have done a few minor and major installs to date and these have really turned out nice. Came to CK in mid-1999 and got hooked on this hobby when looking for subs and an amp on a previous car. (1990 Olds Trofeo') (Stock HU only) Installed Polk Comps up front and a pair of generic 6x9's initially, but then added the subs and amp later. Not a bad system for such a low budget install, but then again, this car was another GM masterpiece of lousy engineering. This car had every gadget you'd expect in a Cadillac, but it did not have the touch screen control panel HU design. (Thank God) It was the most high-tech vehicle I ever owned and had all the "bugs" to prove it. (A great ride in its day, but never again) Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
