Im going to be installing an alarm on my 1994 Lincoln, does anyone know where i can get the wire diagram for it? Replies (6) swez on 09/25/2007 14:21:30 Depending on the alarm system used, it's often better to have this done by a Pro. They have the right tools, knowledge and wiring info to do the job right the 1st time out. ($30 - 50.00 install fee is well worth paying for) Swez Jo7Gle on 09/25/2007 14:28:37 Im pretty good at wiring. I installed it on my last car, but i had the diagram for it. I just need to find the one for my lincoln. Any ideas? swez on 09/25/2007 16:48:26 OK, I can respect that. Most wiring details for installers can be found in the shop manual, Haynes or sometimes from Chilton's manuals. The other route is to register at this site and see what they can provide in their database of vehicles. It looks like the 2nd hot link has the wire color code codes for your vehicle. Cool !!! http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/alarmdetail/1307.html Hope that helps, Swez ttocs on 09/26/2007 16:40:32 when do you need it? I will try and dig my books out as that car should be in it. You will probably be looking at the dreaded 5-wire locking system so you will need relays and know how to use them(as well as correctly diagnose the master and slave switch in the system). cplkittle on 09/27/2007 22:56:17 This should link you to the information. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/alarmdetail/1307.html The lock wires are the pink/yellow, pink/green negative trigger, so you should not have a problem with them. You got lucky! On the other hand, some of the older vehicles need a strong ground to trigger the door locks. Some alarms only give a 500mA negative pulse on lock and unlock. In this case, you will need to use one relay for lock and one for unlock. wire them like this: trigger from alarm to terminal 86 constant positive (fused at 5 amps) to terminal 85 chassis ground to terminal 30 door lock or unlock wire to terminal 87 87A should be left alone swez on 09/28/2007 13:51:54 What he said...
