I'm not real familar with a couple of those brands. A friend of mine had two polk db 10's back in the day and they were very nice. The specs on the audiopipe sound really nice though. I have always liked aluminum cones and with a magnet that big I think it should be able to handle some decent power but I'm not sure exactly how much. What kind of amp are you using on these?

I would try to find some reviews on the Audiopipe sub and if they are decent I would give it a try. Have you checked box specs and requirements for that sub yet?

Here they are in black but I haven't found any reviews on them yet Trunk.

From what you are showing you are looking to buy a 15in subwoofer. Are you looking for that loud deep sound, or are you looking to get a subwoofer with clarity and accuracy of hits? Keep in mind that the smaller the subwoofer, the faster it can hit notes with good sound, it wont be as deep and it wont shake the car next to you, but it will hit the notes better and give better sound.

I have polk as my speakers for my new set up. They sound amazing as speakers. As far as their subwoofers go i cant say that i have heard them. Same goes for power acoustik, ive considered them more as a speaker company, as well as being known for their amps.

And last but not least, you need to have a budget for an amplifier, a box, and the amp kits for this stuff. So dont forget about those when you buy your sub.

One thing to note on both the Audiopipe and PW3, they have foam surrounds and not butyl rubber. Foam surrounds do not hold up as well in mobile apps and most better woofers have long since switched to Butyl rubber surrounds. (Foam surronds are fine for indoor subs and if in car, 2-3 years of service is about the life span of a foam based surround unless it's UV coated or protected in a sealed trunk)

Also, when looking at the Audiopipe specs, it's hard to believe the efficiency rating they show. (98.6 dB/SPL... at what power input level and frequency did that number come from?)

We all know the quality of Polk Momo subs. The power ratings are lower, but we know the quality of Polk products.

The Power Acoustik PW3 is a lower line offer that is low cost and budget minded. But I doubt it would stack up well against their MOFO line.

so heres the deal guys...im not so much as a rookie in this hobby.....i have everything in the system i need minus the sub...swez knows the deal....and yes heretic you are correct i am lookin for a single 15....i have an alpine mrp-m450 amp to run this sub....it does 450 rms at 2ohms....so all i need is the sub ....i can handle the enclosure for this app....yea ravin i figured the specs were a little "too good to be true"....the only power acoustik that i am certain would give me a mean sound would be the mofo ..so yea its probably not gonna happen...the only sensible choice as swez says is the polk....so it probably would be that....thanks you guys for the feedback..

Polk Momo or Alpine SWR-1542D. Both are SQL type subs. For that amp, the Polk makes the most $en$e.

MA makes decent gear. This one matches power to that amp and has decent excursion (13mm). It's Vas is considerably low for a 15". The Qts (.42) is on the lower side compared to the Polk (.51). Not saying it's better. But it seems more workable in smaller boxes. I looked at the specs on the Momo. It's vas is above 6cu.ft, while the MA 3.24cu.ft.
