what happened to all the recent posts? someone erase em? Replies (8) Ash on 09/12/2007 19:56:48 I noticed that too... Thought maybe my cpu was acting screwy or something. swez on 09/12/2007 20:11:16 Hum, there do seem to be a few items lost in cyberspace... For the most part, Golds have limited abilities to delete posts and threads or just parts of threads as they wish. Am not sure if that is across the board or only selected Golds can do this??? Looks like a few OT posts have been deleted and several recent post & threads too... Ash, your T/S gear info is gone too. Just looking at the dates on some items, we seem to have lost a good number of them. Hope we don't have a hacker that homed in on ADMIN functions and is tinkering about??? Swez Ash on 09/12/2007 22:56:14 Yeah, that wouldn't be good at all as there was quite a bit of viable info put on the past few days. In fact I'm kinda ticked because I actually had a decent post that I figure might help someone. Hey You!!!!! You, hacker there! Yeah you! There is nothing for you to gain here by messing up this site. This is all volunteer work. Gitcho butt offa here! swez on 09/13/2007 14:51:59 I sent a clubmail message to Walter on the matter and asked if he can look into it. Victor had a glitch w/ his mouse and that was fixed. I have pruned a few OT post that were not germaine to our normal format as well. But, there could be a server problem as well. Would hate to think we have been hacked or have a disgruntled Gold that has selectively deleted some pretty good info. In the meantime, let's continue biz as usual and see what Walt can find on this one. Swez MrBrownstone on 09/14/2007 14:29:09 I haven't been following too closely, but then again, you don't know what's missing if you didn't know it was there. Do we have a recovery method for this board? Victor on 09/14/2007 17:52:56 Its all in Walt's control i guess... he needs to jump on to this.... i just hope it was always my mouse and nothing wrong with the site... its actually disgusting if someones is messing around with such an informative and helpful free forum.... Victor... swez on 09/15/2007 04:23:53 Walt has updated the archives and all posts that are now missing from the main board can be found at the very bottom of this list. (It's long too) We don't know the reason for these missing posts, but a deleted post and threads can still be found in the archives. It could have been a server dump or some other glitch, but the posts are still available for review. If yours are current and need to be returned to the board, try a copy/paste function. http://www.clubknowledge.com/Car_Audio_FAQ/archives/ Swez PS I did a short one from ASH on his T/S tester from PE. It is listed below. Copy/paste does work, but not in the same format is all. swez on 09/15/2007 04:24:25 Check out PE. The new Dayton woofer tester is now in stock. I went ahead and ordered one as I've needing one for some time. Shipping is free too! http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=390-804 For those who aren't familiar. If you do a lot of scratch work, this software/module is almost a must have. As you all know, the t/s parameters given with drivers aren't always correct. Even if they aren't supplied, this piece will allow you to find out what they are. It can even measure an enclosed speaker to see if the product is true to intended design. The only thing I don't believe it will calculate is xmax and possibly thermal ratings. If you want one, I wouldn't hesitate too long as I expect they will be out of stock fairly quick. It was already 1-2 months past the due date when they finally arrived. Plus I think the price could possibly go up later on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Replies (1) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- trunkisloud on 09/11/2007 22:34:29 thats downright nifty right there....never imagined somethin like that...too bad i dont have an extra $100 layin around Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
