okay ive got an octane r 5.0:1 ... i bought this 2nd hand so no users manual or anything... i simply wish to know what size in-line fuse it would be since i cant figure out what the draw is on it sorry to waste your time. Replies (2) Loveless on 09/5/2007 03:41:19 also a bit of side info, i currently am using a 80 agu in-line fuse, but every time i power up the stereo i blow the 2 20 fuses in the box, im pretty sure the ground is fine so just cant figure out why it keeps blowing the 20's thats why i was wondering if maybe the in-line was 2 big, (original fuse fell out due to little bro messing around and not screwing it back on....) so i figured i may have bought one that simply let 2 much through. swez on 09/5/2007 09:44:10 We fuse the line based on wire gage. If you are using #4 wire here, an 80A inline is good. A #8 line can use up to 50A fuse. If your amp is blowing the fuses mounted in the amp, that often indicates something has failed inside the amp and needs a bench test by a qualified Tech or the protection circuits are not working properly. Try a quick test and see what happens... Disconnect the subs from the amp and see if the amp fuses blow. If yes, the amp needs service. If the fuses only blow when the subs are connected, you "may" have a damaged sub. (Shorted coil) Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
