What are the speakers running off of? If it is the HU, I would start looking at that. Since you are having a problem with the whole system I wouldn't look at the amp and sub just yet. It's possible you have a grounding issue on the radio itself.

First, give more details about the whole setup and how it's wired, then maybe we can go from there.

yes my speakers are comin off my HU. my sub is 2 ohm sub and it's wriedc orrectly my signal cable is wired to my remote wire. my amp ground is bolted to the floor and got a good ground. i got a 4 gauge rockford fosgate amp kit. my wireing harness for my HU is from walmart and it says it's for a 00 cavalier and it says to match up any colors that match and tape the ones off that aren't needed

try grounding the HU to the floor pan or metal bracket most aftermarket HU need a better ground than the wiring harness can provide

you signal cable is wired to your remote? Signal cable is the term for your rca cables that carries the audio "signal" from the deck to the amp. The remote wire comes off of the deck (blue or blue and white depending on brand) and goes to the remote on the amp.

Is the amp turning on? What is the ground bolted to?

Oh, this HU has a menu selection to enable the subwoofer outputs from the HU to feed your sub amp. If that is not enabled, you'll get no sub signals to the amp. The user's manual explains it and here's a link to the manual:

http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/130/130DEHP680.PDF

See page 62 for enabling this feature. That should do the trick if your amp light is on, it's wired properly, has a good ground and the RCA's are OK.

Good luck,
Swez

the deck is used.....and its not unusual for the output to go out on a pioneer deck ...ive pretty much used pioneer since i started and had a few that crapped out in the same fashion for no reason....so dont rule that out.

If you cannoot get the sub outs on the HU to work, try usuing the rear channel RCA outputs to feed the sub amp. The amp has its own Low Pass Filter, (set to 80 Hz.) and see if that helps.

Tech Tip:
Some Pioneer HU's have been troubled with poor grounding at the HU RCA outs. Some guys have managed a fix for this problem by soldering a fine bare wire to the claw end of the male plugs and grounding the tag end to a HU chassis screw.

......U-----U----------@

Legend:

U = RCA grounding claw
------ = grounding line
@ = chassis screw

Got all that?
