I don't know that this needs a FAQ stamp on it. I could only view teh pic of the tv, the others wanted me to sign up....

If we click on V8mike at the top left of the page, you can see all the pics he has in the photo album. Let's see if this works better? Yep, it does... these links work now.

PS I don't think an FAQ was intended here?

wonder why my links arent workin...guess just clik the last one and clik my name and it shows the other pics.

I grabbed the full links off your photo album collection. When I copy/pasted the links, they worked fine. Now, they don't again... that is wierd.

Anyway, the Fusion speakers look pretty good. Is there a way to hide the crossovers so they don't get kicked by a misplaced foot? I like the tweeter placement looks, Does it tend to beam that the driver and passenger in the seats? If so, Victor made a very useful suggestion to tone them down.

PS Is that a speaker wire hanging in the door jamb bro? If yes, keep a close eye on that as the door jamb can eventually wear off the insulation and create a short and damage any amp that is power them.

It looks like there is no pass through conduit for electrical wiring on this door. (No powered locks, windows or mirrors?) It would take some careful work to install "flex-duits", but that depends on how long you plan to keep this ride. (Just watching your back-side here)

the crossovers are mounted so that when the door is shut they are beside the seat....i am able to reach them so that i can adjust the tweeter db level at anytime...the tweeters are actually good there...they were pretty bright until i did a little adjusting...what was vic's suggestion...??? and yea theres not flex runnin to the doors....its a basic cheyenne so its all manual....soon as the new deck arrives i will remove the seat...re-wire the amps...do a better job on the feed wires to the comps...and hopefully start on the blowthrough....i do plan on keeping this rig for a bit....so some custom door panel upholstery is in order to match the seats and such...the truck is in awesome shape for being an '89 model...? back to the wire in the door....what if i wrapped it in electrical tape ..would this protect it ??? and why is this thread marked faq? is that good?

Vic suggested on hot tweeters, add a few layers of silk cloth between the tweeter element and the grill cover. It diffuses some of the tweeter energy w/o having to move them to a new location.

As for speaker wire in the jamb, when you make your holes in the jambs, a length of vacuum or fuel line hose might make a good conduit/sheath. The section that comes from the inner jamb can be fixed into place. The section in the door can be grometted and slides in and out as needed when opening and closing the doors?

That sounds a bit crazy, but the other option is using aftermarket conduit and they are a lot of work to fabricate the proper cutouts. For now, you could tape them with several wraps of very flexible tape and that will protect them until a permanent fix can be found.

hey also is there any kind of adapter that would work with my deh-p9200r that would allow me to use a flash drive like some of the newer models have?
here is the pioneer link to the deck..

This HU does have an AUX 1 input, but you need the adapter harness to make it work.

(Manual)

Egads, after scanning the manual for this HU, it has a lot of complex features. I did not see anything about flash drives. Flash drives are USB type format right?

The AUX 1 in this HU is setup for RCA's that can be used with I-pods and remote MP3 players that use removable flash drives (Players) and have a headphone jack output as the audio source. These can be used off Aux 1, but you may not get text titles this way.

jesus i just read all the crap this hu does....i wasnt even aware of half this stuff...im really interested in that dfs alarm...might have to score the relay.

swez on 08/21/2007 10:51:36
Yep, that what I said... "Holy Jesus, this man's going to need some serious time to figure out how to program this machine"!!!

Read it all very carefully as this one has a lot of bells and whistles in the package. You may not desire to use all the features, but they are available.

The DFS system looks pretty easy to install and a siren horn under the hood would be a good choice. The relay for that feature is cheap at any good autoparts store. (Common Bosch 5 pin type) I like the ease of use on this feature. It simply monitors dome lamp on/off status and a preset delay until the alarm activates. That really makes things easy this way.

hey swezinator.....wheres a cheap place to get this "altenator upgrade" i hear you guys braggin about.....im gettin another bazooka el1500 to run the 2nd 16kv2.....the fuse value on these are 60 amps each...plus i have a pioneer gm-x304 runnin the fusions and its pullin 25 amps i believe....as it is my charging system is straining at around 12v with the engine running and the sound playing at quarter volume....

swez on 08/28/2007 10:21:50
Allow at least 60A's for the truck itself to operate and then add up your toys too. (60+60+60 = 180 + 25 = 205A's) A 200A model should do the trick.

Get a bid from these guys:
