I have a 2004 Tiburon with one 12" and Kenwood KAC-5726 600w 2-channel amp. I want to build a sealed box to fit in the drivers side rear corner where the tail light access is, anyone have some design possibilities? Should I go MDF of Fiber Glass? Possible designs for both...IDEA Replies (4) kirchatndftbl on 08/15/2007 09:38:27 whats the model number for the sub???? each sub has a different equirement for space and with out the correct name and model of the sub its impossible to guess the space required for it Ktib on 08/15/2007 10:50:44 oh ya sorry PG Tantrum 12 swez on 08/15/2007 15:15:57 That sub has a range of sealed between 0.6 - 1.2 ft^3. Here, shoot for about 1.0 ft^3 (cubic foot) as your optimal range. Also, this is a 4 ohm SVC sub. (1 voice coil) and is rated at 300 watts RMS. (Continous power) Cannot find any helpful data on that amp. (Kenwood KAC-5726) What is the fuse rating on it? (20 x2?) As for the enclosure idea, a few pics of the vehicle and the general location where to install it would be helpful. Also, know what is behind that panel area will help you to determine the shape of the form needed to install the sub. (Clearance issues in the side panel are important, and so is the internal size of the enclosure used) Comments? Swez Ash on 08/15/2007 21:50:16 I would assume that is a error in the model #. Kenwood did produce a KAC-526 and a KAC-S726 2 channel bridgable amp once. The latter I would suspect (or hope) is what you have. The S726 is rated @ 300 rms bridged and hopefully that is what you have. The 526 only has 100 watts rms and would severly underpower that sub unless in a overdamped box. Be sure to check that model # again to get the proper help. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
